You know the saying, “What gift could you possibly get for someone who already has everything?” If you have an interior designer in your life (or someone who fancies themselves to be one!), it’s all too easy to feel like this when the holidays roll around. Shopping for a design buff can feel so intimidating and impossible if their aesthetic isn’t well-defined on their Instagram or Pinterest profile. If only there was a blueprint for a chic home decor gift that won’t be regifted or thrifted!

That’s where Apartment Therapy editors come in; we’ve polled a few interior designers on the kinds of gifts they’d want to receive, in their perfect world.

“Decorators are tough people to shop for,” explains New York City-based interior designer Adnan Anwar. “And not all of them have as much of a soft spot for the sentimental or kitschy gift as I do. So I’d recommend shopping categories like barware and tabletop that will go with their existing pieces, like napkins, tablecloths, and napkin rings. Pitchers and vases are other safe ideas, too.”

We collected a solid list of nine gift ideas from interior designers that will inspire you. And if you feel like your giftee won’t love any of these professional recs, we’re adding another 40+ fabulous gift ideas into the mix below.

Gift Ideas for Design Pros (and the Design-Obsessed!)

Whether you’re giving a little luxury (like a whimsical candle or modern art coffee table book) or a head-turning statement piece (hello, bookends!), your favorite interior design fan will want one of everything on this list.

Ombre Taper Candles, Set of 2
$24$12

“Etsy is a gold mine for taper candles, which we designers all love and appreciate. Go for it with color, pattern, and crazy forms!” —Designer Adnan Anwar of Adnan Anwar Design, New York, New York

$12 at Etsy
Montauk Raffia Card Set
$79

“I’m gifting my designer besties this Mark & Graham deck of cards that will never get lost. You can keep them on display all year round, and I love that you can personalize them, too.” —Designer Kristen Ward of Winchester, Massachusetts

$79 at Mark & Graham
Caudalie Beauty Elixir Prep, Set, Glow Face Mist
$49

“Designers all have their own aesthetic preferences, so I skip design gifts altogether and choose wellness instead. My go-to under-$200 pick is the Caudalie Beauty Elixir — something most of us would never buy for ourselves, but absolutely love on the road. It’s a small, travel-friendly luxury that reminds us to enjoy a little beauty while we’re out creating it for everyone else.”—Designer Jaclyn Isaac of Doni Douglas Interior Design, Avon-by-the-Sea, New Jersey

$49 at Sephora
Crabtree & Evelyn Paper Drawer, Nantucket Briar
$30

Beautiful drawer liners transform dressers. I miss when Hermes made them; it was my favorite host gift at one point. Because these are hidden, I find even designers are more open-minded to a kind of beauty that is not cohesive with their home/their own choice. We forget to update and get these, so they make a great gift.”—Adnan Anwar

Square Rechargeable Lamp with Putty Lotus Shade
$218

“These rechargeable lamps are awesome for adding a warm glow to tablescapes year-round, and we love rotating our shades for the seasons.
