apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

I've Got Color! Final Smackdown Contestant #2:
T & CM's "Mod About Blue" Living Room

Name: Tod & Corey Marie
Location: Lansing, MI

Bonus: T & CM's original submission

Why We Should Be the Champs:

"We would love to win, because we'd love some new furniture. When we moved into our apartment after our September wedding, we bought used furniture, making our room for under $500. We've included before and after photos, so you can see how we transformed a tiny run-down apartment into a stylish haven for work and play."

"We can only imagine what we could do if we weren't just settling for what we could find at a thrift store. We love the stuff at CB2 and think it'd look awesome in our room. (And it'd make an amazing wedding present!)"

Whose Room I liked Besides My Own:

Your kitty really should match your color scheme. I would recommend a seal-point siamese.

No, a seal-point snowshoe! Mine would be very happy to stand in! Have your people call his people. :-)

A flame-point would be good, also.

I was thinking Tortie... a good Tortie picks up the orange and includes a wide range of brown tones, plus a little black to ground the design. The one problem is the lack of blue eyes...

With the additional photos I love this room even more. You've done a lot with the space.

I really love the before and after photos, it really shows how colors can really tie the place together. Yeay!!

T & CM, great job with a small space - I'm especially impressed after seeing those BEFORE pics. Egads! Congratulations on your recent marriage - I know what it is like to be newlyweds with nothing! Fortunately, you seem to be quite resourceful. I've known people to spend 5 times as much as you did on your room with much less interesting results. Money can only go so far but you can't buy creativity (well, techincally, you could pay for an interior decorator, but I digress...)
Do you still have the brand/color of that great shade of blue paint??

Wende, just find a tortie-point 'shoe or Siamese.

Mission Organization! You're on the right track. The living room looks really nice, just continue around the rest of the apartment.

I knew that I had seen that wall somewhere before: http://artboxproject.net/artbox_store/DEE_ORDER_PAGE.htm

Cari--
They credit Dee's work as their inspiration in their original entry.

But now the next question, which came first... Dee's painting, their walls, or the pillows on their sofa?

We made the pillows.
