Furniture Faves

1 /
Best Modular Couch

Modern, modular, and oh-so comfy, the low-slung Floyd sectional touts five pre-selected configuration options, or you can fully customize your own. Count on a keep-for-years piece thanks to its high-quality, stain-resistant fabrics and deep, durable seats designed to be expanded on.

2 /
Ahead of the Curve

This sofa hits all the small-space high notes, from its low-profile bat wing back and its neutral upholstery to its compact frame. The neutral velvet will work with any style home, and you can upgrade to nubby boucle for just $100 more.

3 /
Most DIYable

The styling options are endless with the versatile Keep Stacking Storage System, which comes in two finishes with a built-in drawer and shelf. Use one solo as a nightstand or side table, or combine multiple to create a TV stand or bookcase — they connect both vertically and horizontally.

4 /
Impossibly Thin

Room & Board’s Slim Console Table deserves a starring spot in any small space, whether it’s functioning as an entryway organizer or media console. Choose from eight compact sizes and configurations — starting at just 7 inches deep — plus 17 color options ranging from sleek onyx to a punchy scarlet.

5 /
Chicest Swivel Chair

This cozy hangout hero is also a budgeting hero. A swivel chair of this size for under $300 is tough to beat. Plus, it's stylish to boot and comes in cream, charcoal, and sage. (Drew Barrymore herself selected the sage one in her Small/Cool space she designed for Apartment Therapy!)

6 /
Sneaky Storage

Article’s Monterey coffee table packs a sizable, barely there drawer (hello, secret blanket storage) into a minimalist oak frame that looks right at home in any living room. It’s just 36 inches wide and 24 inches deep, but you can still maximize the roomy tabletop and lower shelf space.

7 /
Best Seat at the Table

"The fresh curves on this dining chair’s frame create a unique silhouette that will stand out in any space," says Sebastian Brauer. "It’s also very comfortable, with a neutral rounded cushion seat that looks striking against its warm brown ash frame."

8 /
Most Valuable Pouf

Poufs are the ultimate small-space-friendly item, especially Cyrc's Houf, since it can be used as a planter, stool, seat, or table. Made of recycled PLA and 3D printed on demand, it's also super sustainable and available in a bunch of rich hues.

9 /
Secretly Stretchable

Blending form and function, the aptly named Transformer Table can stretch from a mere 18-inch console size to a 10-foot-long piece that seats 12. Shop this investment-worthy table à la carte, or buy the full dining set with expandable seating. Either way, it's designed to grow with your space.

10 /
No Floor Needed

The brass Curvature Wall Table doubles as a wall-mounted squiggly decor piece and a convenient storage spot — all while taking up less than a foot of vertical space. "It's an elegant statement piece for any room," says Priya Vij of Hapny Home. "It makes a strong visual impact with its sleek design."

11 /
Kids' Section Fave

"While we designed the Tucker Sherpa bed for kids, I can see the full size being an easy, elegant solution for a small apartment in the city," says Jeremiah Brent of this bed collab with Crate & Kids. "The triangular design with the cozy fabric is a juxtaposition that I hadn’t really seen before."

Bright Ideas

1 /
Bye, Boob Light

Your boob light has met its match: You can install the Tulip Gem lampshade on your ceiling in minutes (no tools needed!) to disguise any renter-grade eyesore fixtures. The geometric styles add a decorative touch and cozy ambience to any room, with your choice of silhouette, color, or pattern.

2 /
Keep Things Chill

This super cool (pun intended) smart ceiling fan can change brightness, warmth, color, and speed, and it connects to your smartphone, so you can set it for sleeping, reading, working, and more. Its design is sleek, too, so it'll look stylish overhead.

3 /
State of the Art

U.K.-based lighting brand Pooky just launched a U.S. collection this year, which includes the beautifully curved Blake picture light. Choose from three sizes and finishes to accent your favorite wall art in museum-worthy style — you just need 4.75 inches of wall space, minimum.

4 /
Best of Both Worlds

This double-duty Urban Outfitters design combines a floor lamp and side table into one modern piece. Play up vertical space in style with the pleated lamp shade, curved arm, and spacious round tripod table. Think beyond just the living room, too — it’d make the perfect nightstand.

5 /
Mix and Matchable

Woman-owned small business Nella Lighting essentially lets you customize your own table lamp: the 6-inch Cici design comes with a pleated shade and two interchangeable 4.5-inch cylindrical bases, which you can stack and eventually expand on with additional solid-colored pieces.

6 /
Traveling Light

Elevate your everyday ambient lighting with Humber's 6-inch-tall, vintage-inspired glass mushroom lamp. The multicolored, kaleidoscopic design is battery-operated, so you can transport it wherever you need mood lighting on demand — from a cozy reading corner to a dinner party table centerpiece.

7 /
“It” Lamp Status

It's no surprise that IKEA's iconic VARMBLIXT "donut lamp" made the cut. Created in collaboration with designer Sabine Marcelis, this glossy glass accent can mount flush on the wall or lay flat as a table lamp. Either way, you get the ultimate (functional) conversation starter.

Super Smalls

1 /
Doing Double

A rechargeable LED lamp that's also a vase for flowers, dried or fresh? Sign us up! You can put this baby on any surface, but it's especially elegant as a table centerpiece, where it can be used for a soft glow and dimmed after dinner.

2 /
Talk Scents

Anthropologie's new Found Notes collection candles look like mini works of art, thanks to their sculptural glass vessels and striking colors. All the scents are dreamy, but we're partial to the spicy Fresh Coriander & Fig Leaf, which has a woodsy aroma grounded by oakmoss and cedarwood.

3 /
Best WFH Accessory

This sofa armrest table is perfect if you need an extra surface to rest a coffee mug, crossword book, or glass of cabernet but don't necessarily have the square footage for a full-on coffee table or end table. And it comes in three colorways, so it can match almost any living room furniture.

4 /
Tune In

Sometimes low-fi solutions have the best form and function. Case in point: this ceramic speaker, which amplifies your favorite playlists through its simple gramophone-esque design. Just drop your phone into the opening and hit play — it's as easy as that!

5 /
Elevated Essentials

The Everyday Glass set from woman-owned brand Mannerist feels more like an art piece than serveware, thanks to its handblown nature. Available in clear or amber finishes, the ribbed glasses narrow in the middle, so they stay sturdy in hand while you’re sipping cocktails, coffee, or even water.

6 /
Best Candle BFF

The cantilevered surface of the Wei Candlestick almost makes it look like it's defying gravity. Line a few down a dinner table and partygoers will be sure to talk about them.

7 /
Floral Foundation

Up your centerpiece game with a Base Vase. It'll instantly transform any candelabra or candleholder into a vessel for fresh or faux blooms.

Kitchen & Bath

1 /
Sleek & Sustainable

Designed to cut back on water, the hai Smart Showerhead features adjustable spray settings ranging from a strong stream to a gentle mist. There’s even a notification system that alerts you when your shower reaches that just-right temperature. It's easy to install, too, no plumber required.

2 /
Chill Out

Yes, this freestanding mini drinks fridge is a total splurge, but it's so good-looking, it can basically take the place of your tired bar cart or cabinet. It’s app-enabled, too, so you can visually keep track of your drinks whether you’re home or away. You'll never run out of your favorite bottle again!

3 /
Old Meets New

For design-forward plumbing that’s both classic and contemporary, the Winter Park faucet comes highly regarded by DuVäl. “Its sleek profile feels both familiar and timeless, offering a look that’s effortlessly stylish,” he explains. “Plus, with chrome making a comeback and cross bar handles gaining popularity, this faucet is right on trend!”

4 /
Square Up

The only bathroom decor you’ll ever need: Quiet Town’s popular Sun Shower line now includes a grid-style pattern, called the 2x2, that doubles as both a liner and transparent curtain. All six available colors instantly elevate any plain old tub, especially if you pair them with a set of the brand's brass grommets.

5 /
Countertop Cutie

Add a (mini) pop of color to your countertop with Bodum's newest two-slice toaster, available exclusively at the MoMA Design Store. This cheery multi-hued appliance crisps bread to perfection with five heat settings, adjustable grates, and a retractable warming rack.

6 /
Geometry Lesson

Zia Tile is revamping zellige with their mosaic collections — available in multiple backsplash-worthy designs and colors. "I've installed it in two projects so far and it makes the entire room," says Sarah Sherman Samuel, who praises the "intricate patterns and variation in the glaze ... all in one beautiful sheeted package." She's partial to the Gambit design, but the Radian Inline 1 is pictured here.

The mosaic zellige that Zia Tile recently launched is everything. Just when you think you might be tired of zellige, they came and brought it to a whole new level. I’ve installed it in two projects so far and it makes the entire room. Multicolor with intricate graphic patterns, and the variation in the glaze that is inherent with zellige all in one beautiful sheeted package.

Top Textiles

1 /
Best Bathroom Boost

Made of cozy cotton terry, Dusen Dusen’s House Stripe bath towels double as fun decorative accents — you can alternate between colorful reversible patterns. “We've carefully selected the color palette to create a cohesive set that adds a vibrant touch to any bathroom,” founder Ellen Van Dusen says.

2 /
Most Hands-On

Cold Picnic’s anthropomorphic Audience/Embrace collection takes bordered rugs to a new level, with whimsical arm motifs as metaphors for the safety and comfort of home. Van Dusen loves that “the color palette is sophisticated and the design is playful,” plus they’re “super plushy.”

3 /
Blanket Statement

Neutral but playful, this bedding from Samuel's Lulu & Georgia collection combines a stylish tiger print with long-lasting 100% hemp material. "[It] feels like a soft washed linen but is a sustainable fabric that is also even more durable," says Samuel.

4 /
Instant IKEA Upgrade

Why buy a trendy sofa when you can turn your plain IKEA couch into one with a striped Bemz slipcover? This skirted style will give your seat a cottagecore makeover in mere minutes.

5 /
Best Color Combos

For anyone who likes to mix and match their bedding, the Cammie x Apartment Therapy collection of duvet covers and shams is for you. The flower-inspired colors are fun and punchy, and you can easily layer them into your existing bedding.

I love Cold Picnic’s border rugs, especially the new Audience/Embrace collection. The color palette is sophisticated and the design is playful—a perfect combination in my book. Plus they are super plushy and comfortable under your feet.

Dreamy Details

1 /
Coolest Coat Hanger

"This lightweight, visually punchy, wall-hung catchall is a problem solver," says Afternoon Light's Minya Quirk and Deirdre Maloney. "For hanging leashes and purses, stashing keys, cards, glasses, and lip balms, it’s so good-looking and ready to work hard for any household."

2 /
Happiest Hardware

Add a few of Hapny’s irresistible Smiley cabinet knobs to your dresser, cabinets, or desk, and you’re guaranteed good vibes. At 1.5 inches around, they’re sizable enough to line up in a row as wall hooks, even mixing and matching the three solid brass finishes — black, brass, or nickel.

3 /
Switch It Up

The sleek switch plates from Legrand’s Adorne collection are simple enough to blend in with any decor, but what you’ll love most is the innovative design of the corresponding outlets. Instead of being stacked, the two outlets are staggered — making it easier than ever to accommodate bulky plugs.

4 /
Sound Off

Felt Right offers felt tile shapes that add texture and sound absorption to any space. With endless configurations and vibrant colors (offered in more than 40 colorways), it’s an easy and stylish way to create high end-looking wall art and add better acoustics with minimal effort.

5 /
Most Matte

Farrow & Ball's Dead Flat finish just might be the most matte paint we've ever used. Try it on walls, trim, and even metal for a long-lasting, flat finish that's ultra-rich and even cleanable, should you need to erase any stains or scuffs.

6 /
Diffuser in Disguise

Designed in collaboration with Apartment Therapy, the tiny-but-mighty Aera Mini can scent rooms up to 400 square feet. But you wouldn’t even know where the fragrance was coming from — the sleek design and fun colors make it look more like decor than a diffuser.

7 /
Play It Safe

There are smart locks and then there's Yale's Assure 2 collab with Pantone. Not only can it send e-keys to your guests and be used to auto-lock and unlock your doors with your Apple Watch or iPhone, this system also looks good doing it, thanks to its funky magenta encasing and sleek, small touchpad.

8 /
Flower Power

It's springtime, all the time, courtesy of Little Greene's retro-looking Spring Flowers wallpaper. Deck out your bathroom, bedroom, and beyond with the small-scale floral print, inspired by a Morris & Co. pattern from the historic Standen House and Garden in Sussex.
